Incident Summary – Day Shift – 28th May

08:02 – Marton Road, Gargave

Skipton’s appliance was mobilised to reports of an electricity pole that was smouldering following the mornings adverse weather conditions. Crews remained on scene to ensure public safety whilst awaiting the arrival of an electrical engineer. The incident was left with the engineer to isolate.

09:00 – Overton

Acomb’s crew responded to a manure heap that had caught fire beside a road. Crews used a hose reel jet and pitchforks to dampen down and extinguish the fire.

09:01 – Millfield Avenue, Northallerton

Northallerton’s appliance were mobilised to a residential property with an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was found to be a false alarm due to a faulty detector head.

11:31 – Caxton Way, Seamer

One of Scarborough’s crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a premises. This was found to be a false alarm due to steam activating the alarm.

12:16 – Park Lane, Middleham

Leyburn’s appliance were mobilised to assist with a possible person trapped within their home. On crews arrival this was found to be a false alarm.

14:07 – Hallgarth, Pickering

Crews from Kirkbymoorside and Malton were mobilised to an incident involving an unsupervised fire in the open. Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the surrounding area using two hose reel jets.
