Incident Summary – Sunday 31st May 2026 – Night Shift

Time: 17:27  Location: Skelton on Ure

A crew from Ripon responded to assist a district nurse who could not gain entry to a property. Crews gained access through a window and the patient was left in the care of the nurse.

Time: 19:18   Location: Springfield Avenue, Harrogate

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended a commercial property where there had been a chlorine activation. On arrival after investigation this was found to be a false alarm with good intent due to a member of staff topping up a swimming pool with chlorine which had accidentally activated the alarm.

Time: 19:25  Location: Eastfield, Scarborough

Both crews from Scarborough responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. All occupants were out on arrival and crews made the vehicles safe.

Time: 19:28  Location: Fox Lane, Hambleton

A crew from Selby responded to reports of a hedge on fire along a road side. Crews used a hose reel jet and a spade to extinguish. Cause believed deliberate.

Time: 21:52  Location: North Lees, Ripon

Ripon responded to a bonfire measuring 5×5 metres left unattended in a field. Crews used a hose reel jet to bring the fire to a manageable size for the responsible person, who they managed to locate, to continue monitoring their controlled burn but under the advice they remain in attendance with their own water supply.

Time: 23:50  Location: Topcliffe Road, Thirsk

Thirsk mobilised to a boiler that had ruptured and leaked water from the first floor to the ground floor, affecting the electrics inside the property. Crews were able to isolate the water and stop the leak. Advice was given to the occupier regarding attendance of electrician and plumber during daylight hours

 

Crews from York, Acomb, Huntington and Thirsk responded to automatic fire alarm activations throughout the evening. These were all confirmed to be false alarms.
