Incident Summary – Friday 26th June – Night Shift

Time: 17.44     Location: Walmgate, York

A crew from York responded to an individual stuck in a lift. Crews used onsite lift keys to release the individual. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 18.21     Location: Selby

Selby crew responded to assist paramedics move a casualty into a road ambulance. Crews used ambulance equipment to safely move the casualty, crews then left the casualty in the care of the paramedics on scene.

Time: 19.53     Location: Fewston

Harrogate crew responded to reports of grass on fire, on arrival crews found a disposable BBQ left unattended. Crews extinguished using a bucket of water.

Time: 22.23    Location: Elvington, York

York crew responded to reports of smoke sighted. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to controlled burning, the responsible person was in attendance with their own means of extinguishing. Crews gave advice, no further fire service action was required.

Time: 22.29     Location: Pickering

Kirkbymoorside crews responded to a fire sighted near a property, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm with the responsible person present. Advice was given.

Time:  04.04    Location:  Ruswarp, Whitby

Crews from Whitby and Lythe responded to a report of smoke coming from the side of a property.  After a thorough search of the area no smoke or fire were found.

Time:  04.25    Location:  Newborough, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of some commercial wheelie bins on fire.  Crews extinguished the bins. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down the area.

Crews from Leyburn, Richmond, Acomb, Harrogate, Selby, Thirsk, Scarborough and Easingwold responded to automatic fire alarms. After investigation these were found to be false alarms, advice was given to the responsible people present.
