Incident Summary – Saturday 11th July 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 08.14    Location: Cleasby 

Richmond crew alongside assistance from Darlington crew (Durham fire and rescue) responded to reports of decking on fire. On arrival crews found a small fire to the decking, crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish fully and cut away any burnt decking. Advice was given to the responsible people present.

Time: 08.28   Location: Sherburn In Elmet 

Tadcaster crew responded to assist police gain entry to a building due to welfare concerns for an individual. The individual was found safe and well.

Time: 10.41   Location: Cowling

Crews from Skipton responded to smoke sighted, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to control burning. Responsible person was in attendance and advice was given by crews.

Time: 11.35   Location: Maunby 

Northallerton crew responded to reports a fire alarm was sounding and the occupants did not know why. This was a false alarm and crews gave advice to the responsible people present.

Time: 11.36   Location: Quay Street, Scarborough

Filey crew assisted ambulance extricate a casualty from a property. Crews used ambulance equipment and crew power to assist. Crews then left the casualty in the care of the paramedics.

Time: 12.18   Location: Sutton Under Whitestone Cliffe 

Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton responded to a robo flail on fire in a field. The fire was confined to the vehicle, no surrounding field or crops were involved. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish and a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no hotspots.

A Crew from Stokesley responded to a report of a fire to some moorland.  Crews located the fire which measured approx 4m x 4m and extinguished using knapsack sprayers and buckets of water.

Time: 13.39   Location: East field, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a request to assist Ambulance with the difficult extrication of a casualty. Crews used crew power to extricate the casualty from the property into an Ambulance.

Time: 13.50   Location:  Bellhouse Way, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a fire to grassland in a park.  On arrival the crews found a fire to approx 5m x 2m of grassland and used buckets and knapsacks to extinguish the fire which was believed to have been caused deliberately.

Time: 14.21   Location: Otley Road, Skipton 

Skipton crew responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision with reports the vehicle was smoking. Everybody was out of the vehicles on fire service arrival. Crews used small tools to make the vehicle and scene safe.

A crew from Skipton responded to a report of a fire to some grassland near a footpath.  Crews located a smoldering fence post and extinguished it using 2 knapsack sprayers.

A crew from Selby responded to a report of a fire in a wooded area. Crews located the fire which had spread to the trees and extinguished it using 1 hose reel jet.

Time:  15.39  Location:  Foreshore Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of fires being lit by youths.  The fires were out on arrival of the crews.  The Police were also requested to attend the incident.

Time:  15.42  Location:  Lady Ediths Drive, Scarborough

A crew responded to a report of a lit BBQ in a picnic area. On arrival the crews found this to be in a safe area with extinguishing media present.  Advice was given to responsible persons present.

Time: 16.07   Location: Rawcliffe, York

Acomb crews responded to grassland on fire, on arrival the fire measured approx 20 x 20 metres, crews extinguished fully using 45 jet and beaters. Police were informed of the incident.
