Incident Summary – Day Shift Wednesday 19th August

Time: 0900  Location: Boroughbridge

Crew from Ripon attended an address to assist a care worker gain access to a property as the occupant was not responding. On arrival entry had already been gained to the premises by the care worker using a key from a keysafe. Occupant was safe and well. No action by fire crews.

Time: 09:15  Location: Suffield, Scarborough

Crew from Scarborough attended a telehandler on fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down. Vehicle sustained 100% fire damage

Time: 09:20  Location: Tanton

Crew from Stokesley were mobilised to reports of a fire sighted in a field. This was found to be a controlled burn by a farmer under supervision. Advice only given.

Time: 09:39  Location: Arkendale

Crew from Ripon responded to reports of smoke sighted in a field from the A1. Crews located the fire on a farm just off the motorway. This was a controlled bun under supervision by the farmer. No action required.

Time: 10:14 Location: Thirsk

Crew from Thirsk responded to reports of a small fire in a field in Thirsk. Crews located a small bonfire left unattended which was out on their arrival. Crew used a knapsack sprayer to dampen down.

Crew from Ripon attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. All persons out on arrival and no injuries reported. Crew used drizzit pads to clean up a spillage from one of the vehicles.

Time: 11:24 Location: Crakehall

Crew from Northallerton responded to reports of a fire sighted. On arrival this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision.

Time: 11:28  Location: York

Crew from York attended reports of a car that had accidentally driven in to the front of a house. All persons were accounted for on arrival.

Crew from Acomb attended a report of 3 persons trapped in a broken down lift. On arrival the people had already been released by a lift engineer.

Time: 13:00  Location: A19 Tontine

Crews from Stokesley, Northallerton and Thirsk attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival 4 occupants from the first vehicle were out of their car with only minor injuries. Crew then performed a roof removal on second vehicle to allow paramedics to assess the casualty. They were removed from vehicle and all 5 casualties taken to hospital for precautionary check ups. No serious injuries reported.

Crew from Scarborough responded to reports of smoke sighted coming from some woodland. This was a false alarm caused by controlled burning.

Time: 13:40 Location: York

Crew from York assisted paramedics gaining entry to a property. Crews gained access using a triple extension ladder via a first floor window. Occupant was found to be safe and well. They were left in care of paramedics.

Time: 14:28  Location: Cawton

Crew from Malton were mobilised to reports of smoke sighted coming from some woodland. Crews attended and found a fire measuring 50 x 20. This incident is ongoing.

Time: 15:16  Location: Keasden

Crew from Skipton were mobilised to reports of a farm quadbike on fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.

Time: 15:50  Location: Skeeby

Crew from Richmond were mobilised to reports of smoke sighted coming from a field between Richmond and Skeeby. This was a false alarm caused by controlled burning. Advice given.
