Incident Summary – Sunday 30th August – Night Shift
Time: 17.35 Location: Ripon
Crews from Ripon, Boroughbridge and Harrogate responded to reports of a building on fire. On arrival crews found a building measuring approximately 20 m x 10 m well alight. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets to extinguish. Fire investigation is to be conducted in daylight hours.

Acomb crew were mobilised to a fuel spill. Action had been taken prior to fire service arrival, crews ensured the scene was safe and it was being organised for the fuel spillage to be cleared up properly. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Crews from Tadcaster were mobilised to reports of a fire next to a derelict building. On arrival crews found a small fire within the derelict building, crews extinguished using 2 knapsack sprayers.

Easingwold crews responded to reports of smoke sighted in a woodland area. Crews made there way on foot to the affected area and confirmed this to be a false alarm due to control burning, advice was given to the responsible person in attendance.

York crews responded to reports of a fire and smoke sighted in a woodland area. Crews located a small fire measuring approximately 1 x 1 metres. Crews extinguished using a knapsack sprayer. Cause believed deliberate, the police were informed.

Acomb and Huntington crews responded to reports of a lightning strike to a house. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots in the loft space, advice was given to the responsible person present..
Time: 19.18 Location: Scaborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to an individual who had been locked out of the kitchen due to furniture falling and blocking the door. Cooking appliances were on in the kitchen, so crews used a triple extension ladder to gain access and move the furniture blocking the door within the property. Advice was given to the occupant present.

A crew from Selby responded to reports of smoke. On arrival crews found a large industrial bin full of rubbish on fire, crews extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.

A crew from York attended flooding in a street, crews attempted to clear surface water whilst waiting for the arrival of highways due to pressure of the water causing the tarmac to lift on the road surface. The road was shut and crews left the incident with highways.

Whitby crew responded to flooding in a property. Crews investigated the property and gave advice to contact an electrician and plumber.
Time: 20.32 Location: Kirby Misperton
Crews from Malton, Kirkbymoorside, Scarborough and Tadcasters water bowser responded to two barns on fire, one of the barns was empty the other had straw in it. A dam was set up to cool 3 propane cylinders, crews monitored the temperature using a thermal imaging camera. 4 hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire. Fire crews remain in scene at this incident, fire investigation to be conducted in daylight hours.

Selby and Pontefract (West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue) crews responded to reports of a large fire sighted. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to control burning, advice was given to the responsible person present.

A crew from Selby attended a phone line box that was smoking on a footpath. Crews cordoned off the area and inspected whilst awaiting the arrival of virgin media who were already on the way.

When traveling back to Selby station, crews assisted police safely move a broken down vehicle to a safe location off the main road.

A crew from York responded to a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a multiple residential premises. After investigation this was found to be a false alarm.

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of an automatic fire alarm in a ressidential property. This was found to be a false alarm.
Time: 05.00 Location: Westgate Carr Road. Pickering.
Crews from Kirkbymoorside and Malton responded to a report of smoke in a room in an Industrial building. The fire which is believed to have come from a tumble dryer was out on arrival of the crews due to an effective sprinkler system in the premises. Crews inspected and gave advice.

A crew from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm activation in a residential property, After inspection this was found to be a false alarm.

Crews from Malton and York responded to a report of am automatic fire alarm activation and a smell of smoke in a property. After inspection this was found to be a false alarm.
Crews from Kirkbymoorside, Acomb, Hawes responded to automatic fire alarm activations. After investigation these were found to be false alarm. Advice was given to the responsible person present.
