Incident Summary – Sunday 13th September – Day Shift

Time: 07.23    Location: Richmond

Richmond crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm activation. Crews investigated and this was found to be a false alarm, advice was given to the responsible person.

Time: 07.24    Location: Sherburn

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a vehicle smoking. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to the vehicle overheating, crews checked the vehicle with a thermal imaging camera and gave advice to the owner present.

Time: 09.04   Location:  Great Broughton

A crew from Stokesley responded to a report of smoke seen in the distance.  Crews located the incident and found 2 fires to fly tipped waste, both measuring approximately 5m x 5m.  Crews used 2 Hose Reel Jets to extinguish the fires. Police were informed due to the cause believed to be deliberate.

A crew from Scarborough responded to assist paramedics extricate a casualty from a property. Crews safely lifted the casualty into the road ambulance and left them in the care of the paramedics.

Time: 12.13   Location: Stokesley

Stokesley crew were mobilised to a fire alarm activation. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to a faulty detector. Crews changed the detector and gave advice to the responsible person present.

Time: 15.03   Location: Riccall 

Selby crew responded to reports of smoke sighted, on arrival this was found to be a control burn under supervision. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 15.29   Location: Ripon

Ripon crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was found to be a false alarm, advice given to the responsible person present.

Time: 15.36   Location: Skipton

A crew from Skipton responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. Crews conducted a thorough search of the area and found no sign of fire. Believed to be a faulty detector and gave advice.

Time: 16.03   Location: York

York crew responded to reports of a vehicle smoking. This was found to be a false alarm, the incident was left with the responsible person who was arranging recovery for the vehicle.

Time: 16.33   Location:  Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm activation in a residential building.  This was found to be a false alarm activated due to heat from a boiler room.
