Incident Summary – 16th September 2026, Wednesday Nightshift
Time: 18:03 Location: Stillingfleet
York and Acomb responded to a large amount of wood which had ignited after a controlled burn had spread from windy weather conditions. Crews extinguished the fire and prevented escalation by protecting nearby buildings. Both occupiers were checked for smoke inhalation but neither needed further medical assistance. The fire was extinguished with the assistance of on site farm machinery and advice was given to the occupier who will continue to monitor.
Time: 18:12 Location: Near Buckden
Hawes responded to a fire in some woodland. After inspection, this was confirmed as a bonfire under the supervision of the responsible person. Advice given.
Time: 18:13 Location: Malton
A crew from Malton responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out on arrival of crews and did not require any medical attention. Crews moved both vehicles to a safe location and disconnected both batteries using small tools. The incident was left with both vehicle owners and police informed.
Time: 00:53 Location: Stepney Road, Scarborough
Scarborough were requested by police to gain entry to a property for ambulance crews after welfare concerns for the occupant. Crews arrived and found ambulance crews had already gained access and no further action was required by the fire service.
Crews from Scarborough, Acomb (x2), Richmond, Filey, Tadcaster and York also responded to activated fire alarms inside residential buildings. After inspection, these were all confirmed as false alarms.
