Fire at Clifton Moor York
Our control room received a call 14:41 to reports of smoke in the ceiling of a commercial property on Stirling Road in York. We’ve got a number of crews in attendance, including an aerial ladder platform. The water bowser from Tadcaster has also been requested to attend.
The fire is in the roof of the building and crews are using main jets to tackle the fire. The aerial ladder platform is also in use.
Crews are likely to be at the scene for some time.

Crews remain at the scene of the fire to the commercial property. The aerial ladder platform, water bowser, 2 hose reel jets and main jets are in use.
The officer in charge hopes to be able to scale the incident down soon, so some crews may start leaving the scene.
We would continue to ask people to avoid the area for the time being.
Incident Summary Update Friday 9th 8am
This incident involved a fire to a fast food restaurant measuring 25mx10m. The fire caused 100% damage to the roof and 60% damage to the building structure, along with 100% smoke logging through the whole building.
Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the area using 2 main jets, multiple hose reel jets, 6 breathing apparatus sets, water bowser, small tools, 9m ladders, triple extension ladders and thermal imaging cameras.
The cause is still under investigation. It is not being treated as suspicious.
The incident remains open for a revisit today (9th).
