Incident Summary – Saturday 11th April – Day Shift

Time: 08:46  Location: Gale Lane, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a person who had fallen and was unable to get back up. Crew power was used to lift the person who was uninjured.

Time: 09:48  Location: Topcliffe Road, Thorpefield

A crew from Thirsk responded to a vehicle which was well alight. Crews extinguished using two breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera. They dampened down and checked for hotspots and the incident was handed over to the police.

Time: 10:52  Location: Osprey Close, Scotton

A crew from Richmond responded to a request from carers to gain entry to a residential property over concerns for the resident. On arrival of crews the resident opened the door and no fire service action was required.

Time: 11:15  Location: Murchison Street, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of flooding inside a residential property. This was found to be from a damaged tap. The resident had already isolated the water before fire service arrival and crews isolated the electrics. Maintenance was requested and the incident was left with a responsible person.

Time: 11:09  Location: Sowerby, Thirsk

Crews from Thirsk, Northallerton and Ripon attended reports of a property fire. The crew gained entry, rescued a casualty and extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. The casualty was initially treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

A crew from Filey responded to a request from the police to gain entry to a property on behalf of the ambulance service. Crews used small tools to gain entry and the incident was left with paramedics.

Time: 11:52  Location: Kitchener Street, Selby

A crew from Selby responded to a request from the Ambulance service to help with a difficult extrication of a patient. Crew power and a casualty drag sheet were used to extricate the patient from a property to a road ambulance.

Time: 13:23  Location: Water Lane, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a fire sighted in the open. This was one small fire consisting of timber and crews extinguished using a knapsack sprayer and small tools.

Time: 14:20  Location: Anthea Drive, Huntingon

A crew from York responded to a vehicle which was on fire. The fire was out on arrival of the crew and they checked the vehicle with a thermal imaging camera. Advice was given and the incident was left with a responsible person.

Time: 16:13  Location: Engine Shed Lane, Skipton

Fire control were made aware of a casualty at a sports ground who had become injured. A crew from Skipton responded to help move the casualty and provide initial first aid until the arrival of the ambulance.

 

Crews from Northallerton, Tadcaster and Harrogate attended fire alarm activations. On arrival after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
