Incident summary – Night shift Friday 17th April

18:42 Middleton Road, York

Acomb crews gained entry to a property to rescue an elderly occupant who had fallen and is believed to have been on the floor for over 7 hours. Occupant had suffered a head injury and suspected broken hip. Crews assisted Ambulance service with lifting casualty into an Ambulance to be transported to hospital for treatment.

18:42 Skipton Road, Harrogate

A member of the public turned up at Harrogate Station requesting help with a casualty struggling with their breathing in a pub. Crew administered oxygen until arrival of Ambulance, however the casualty did not require Hospital treatment and their stats improved. They were taken home by a family member.

02:28  High Street, South Milford

Crews from Tadcaster and over the border appliances Pontefract and Garforth attended a residential house fire. The fire originated within an upstairs bedroom, 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets used to extinguish the fire. Occupants were out on arrival of crews and were seen to by Ambulance after suffering smoke inhalation. The cause is still yet to be determined.

York (x3),  Harrogate, Scarborough (x2), Richmond all responded to investigate smoke alarm activations. These were all confirmed to be false alarms.
