Incident Summary – 25th April – Day Shift

08:44 – Sandacre Court, York

Acomb and York’s appliances were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property. This was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

09:40 – Rose Avenue, York

Crews from York and Acomb were mobilised to an incident involving a fire in an industrial kitchen. Crews used one hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera, two breathing apparatus’ and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish.

10:11 – Blacksmith Bank, Little Crakehall

Crews from Bedale and Northallerton were requested by ambulance to assist with gaining entry to a property with a casualty inside. Crews used small tools, a lock snapper and a casualty drag sheet to enter the property and assist with extrication. The incident was left with paramedics.

12:11 – Sandhill Close, Harrogate

Yorkshire Ambulance requested the assistance of Harrogate’s crew at an incident involving gas in a property. Crews ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan and left the incident with ambulance staff.

14:02 – Brotherton

Crews from Selby and Pontefract were mobilised to an incident involving a small fire in the open. Due to the fire involving live telephone pole wires, crews liaised with northern power grid and the incident was left with them.

14:16 – Mayfield Grove, York

Acomb’s crew attended a small fire in the open. The fire was out on crews arrival, no action was taken.

14:24 – Kiln Hill Lane, Austwick

Crews from Bentham and Settle were mobilised to a fire in the open that had been left unattended. Crews used a knapsack sprayer and the argocat from Settle to extinguish the fire and dampen down.

15:02 – Back Lane, Barkston Ash

A crew from Tadcaster attended an incident involving a person that had fallen and was unable to get themselves back up. Crews used crew power to lift them and the incident was left with a responsible person.
