Incident Summary – Sunday 26th April – Night Shift

17:52 – Quarry Lane, Osmotherly 

Northallerton crew responded to a report of persons having numerous BBQ’s in the open presenting a fire risk. Crews attended and extinguished the BBQ’s using buckets of water. Advice given to persons in attendance.

18:22 – Westfield Lane, Wiggington

A crew from York responded to a report of a small fire in the open, this was a small camp fire measuring approx 3 metres. Crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish and dampen down, it’s believed this was set deliberately.

18:38 – Church Street, Wetherby

Tadcaster crew responded to an over the boarder incident alongside West Yorkshires Wetherby appliance. This was reported as a fire to a derelict building but after investigation was just a small fire that was alongside it.

19:19 – Minchin Close, York

Acomb crew responded to a fire in the open, upon arrival 3 fires had been set all measuring 5 metres x 5 metres. 2 knapsack sprayers used to extinguish, it’s believed these were set deliberately by youths and police were requested to the incident.

19:39 – Leeming Lane, Langthorpe

A crew from Ripon responded to a sighting of smoke seen over the riverside. Crews located a small fire smouldering, this was extinguished using 1 bucket of water.

19:48 – Swinerton Avenue, York

Acomb crew responded to fire which was believed to have been set deliberately. Knapsack sprayers used to extinguish.

19:51 – Pasture Way, Sherburn in Elmet 

A crew from Tadcaster responded to a small bin fire within a playground, crews used a bucket of water to extinguish.

21:16 – Primrose Valley, Filey

Crew from Scarborough responded to a report of smoke seen in the open, this was confirmed to be a controlled burn with responsible persons in attendance.

21:18 – Oak Grove, Northallerton

Crews from Northallerton responded to a late fire call where smoke was coming from the tv set within a residential property. This was a false alarm, advice given to the resident.

22:46 – Skipton Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew responded to a request from Ambulance to gain entry to a residential property. Crew power used to lift them onto the road Ambulance and left in the care of paramedics.

00:03 – I’anson Road, Richmond

A crew from Richmond responded to a report of an automatic fire alarm, this was confirmed to be a false alarm.

04:12 – Broad Lane, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision where the vehicle had crossed the roundabout and hit a streetlight. Crews used car chocks to stabilize the vehicle and crew power used to remove the casualty who was mechanically trapped. Casualty left in the care of Paramedics and incident left with Police.
