Incident Summary – Night Shift – 13th May

17:57 – Haxby Road, York

York’s appliance was mobilised to reports of a vehicle leaking fuel. Crews inspected the vehicle for damage and advised the owner to seek further assistance from a mechanic. No action taken.

18:05 – Lincoln Street, York

Acomb’s crew were mobilised to reports of youths setting fire in a park. Crews extinguished the fire using one knapsack sprayer. The incident was left with police.

18:22 – Chubb Hill Road, Whitby

Whitby’s pump attended an incident involving a small campfire that had been left unattended. Crews used one knapsack sprayer and a shovel to extinguish.

20:54 – Brompton on Swale

A crew from Richmond were requested by ambulance to assist with the difficult extrication of a patient from a residential property. Crews used an ambulance spine board and crew power to transport the casualty to the road ambulance where they were then taken to hospital.

22:00 – Ripon Bypass

Ripon’s first appliance responded to a call regarding thick smoke being spotted in the area. After further inspection, this was found to be a false alarm due to farming equipment.

04:17 – Wheldrake Lane, York

York and Acomb’s crew were mobilised on behalf of police to assist with a single vehicle road traffic collision. On the arrival of crews, police stood us down stating that there was no fire service requirement at the incident.

Crews from Hawes. Skipton and Ripon attended automatic fire alarm activations across county. After investigation, these were all found to be false alarms.
