Incident Summary – Saturday 16th May 2026 – Night Shift
Time: 17:26 Location: Hovingham Drive, Scarborough
Scarborough gained access to a property for ambulance crews who were enroute to assist an occupant who was unable to move inside their property. Crews gained access prior to ambulance crews and provided care for the patient until paramedics arrived. Once ambulance crews were on scene, the patient was lifted onto a stretcher and taken to the awaiting road ambulance for transport to hospital.

A crew responded to reports from the ambulance service of an occupant who had fallen inside their property and were worried the embers from the fire would start a fire because the fire guard had been knocked over. On arrival, fire crews found the occupant had been moved to a safe position by family members and the fire guard was back in place, posing no risk. The incident was left with family members awaiting arrival of ambulance crews to check occupant for any injuries. Inspection only by fire crews.

A Crew from Richmond responded to two people who were stuck in a lift due to a power cut. All persons were released safely and the lift was left isolated until power issues are resolved.

Crews from Northallerton and Richmond alongside an appliance from Durham and Darlington fire and rescue service responded to a mounted transformer on fire. Crews stood by and ensured no property or vegetation was at risk while electricity board engineers attempted to isolate the power. Once the power was isolated crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet. The incident was left with engineers to investigate and repair the damaged transformer.

A crew from Scarborough investigated reports of a fire seen in Broxa Forest. Crews travelled on foot to locate a plastic bath on fire in the forest. The fire was extinguished using two knapsack sprayers. The cause of the fire was believed deliberate.

A crew from Richmond alongside an appliance from Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue service attended a road traffic collision involving a car and a HGV. All occupants were out on arrival and crews completed scene safety.
Crews from Richmond, Acomb and Kirkbymoorside attended fire alarm activations. On arrival, after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
