Incident Summary – Monday 18th May – Night Shift

Time: 19.27    Location: Brompton 

Northallerton crews responded to assist district nurses gain entry to a property after they were unable to contact the occupant. Crews made contact to the occupant through an downstairs window, the occupant was then able to open the door for the district nurses, no further fire service action required.

Time: 19.43   Location: Water Lane, York

Acomb crew responded to reports of a fire in a field, on arrival crews found one campfire left unattended, crews extinguished using one knapsack sprayer.

Time: 22.04   Location: Wykeham Lane, Wykeham

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a fire that was close to trees.  On arrival crews found a bonfire of building waste that had been left unattended. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and dampen down the surrounding area.

Time: 23.08   Location:  Hazel Close, Grewelthorpe

Masham crew responded to a request to assist Ambulance to lift a casualty from the ground floor of their property to a room on the first floor. Crews used crew power.

Time: 00.23   Location:  Fairfield, Fairburn

A Crew from Tadcaster with assistance from Pontefract and Garforth (West Yorkshire FRS) responded to a report of a garden shed on fire. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish, fire investigation is being conducted in daylight hours.

Time: 01.36   Location: Warthill

Crews from York, Huntington and Acomb responded to reports of a caravan on fire. On arrival it was found that the fire had spread to a nearby property, nobody was in the property. Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish, fire investigation is ongoing.

Crews from Pickering, Richmond, Knaresborough, Hawes and Selby responded to automatic fire alarm activations, after investigation these were found to be false alarms. Advice was given to the responsible person present.
