Incident Summary – Saturday 23rd May – Day Shift
Time: 08.37 Location: Swan Road, Harrogate
Both Harrogate appliances responded to reports of smoke in a property, on arrival this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Crews assisted to ventilate the property, advice was given to the occupant on scene.
Time: 09.00 Location: Lowmoor Road, South Duffield
A Selby crew responded to a pile of plastic measuring approximately 5m by 5 m on fire. Crews used one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.
Time: 09.08 Location: Meadlands, Osbaldwick
York crew responded to assist a fox that was trapped in a garden bench. crews used protection and small tools to release the fox. Crews then transported the fox to a nearby vet, and left it in there care.
Time: 09.53 Location: Ripon
Crews from Ripon responded to reports of smoke sighted from a building following works to a nearby mast. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm and due to a diesel generator. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there was no risk.
Time: 11.55 Location: Weydale Avenue, Scarborough
Scarborough crews responded to a late fire call with reports that an iron was on fire but is now out. Crews inspected only and gave advice to the occupant.
Time: 12.21 Location: Ribblehead Road, Harrogate
Harrogate crew responded to a fence on fire, fire measured approximately 2m X 2m and crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish. Advice was given to the responsible person.
Time: 14.50 Location: Harrogate
Harrogate crews responded to a campfire in the open, crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish.
Crews from Northallerton, Acomb (x2), York, Richmond, Bedale and Malton responded to fire alarm activations. After investigation, these were found to be false alarms. Advice was given to the responsible person present.
