Incident Summary – Saturday 23rd 2026 – Night Shift
Time: 18:49 Location: Brompton Road, Northallerton
Northallerton crews responded to a report of a fire in the open. Crew used buckets of water to extinguish the fire which consisted of wooden pallets. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
Time: 19:23 Location: Whitcliffe Lane, Ripon
A crew from Ripon responded to a report of smoke from a control box near electrical masts. On arrival after investigation this was found to be a false alarm and the incident was left with a telecommunications company.
Time: 19:39 Location: Osgodby Lane, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a request from the Ambulance service to help with a difficult extrication of a casualty. Crew power and an ambulance stretcher were used to extricate the casualty to a road ambulance.
Time:19:49 Location: Greatwood Avenue, Skipton
Crews from Skipton responded to investigate a report of a fire sighted. Crew investigated and confirmed this to be a false alarm. No fire service intervention required
Time: 20:04 Location: North Lane, Haxby
Huntington and York crews responded to investigate a sighting of smoke issuing near a property. A birds nest in a dryer vent is believed to have caught fire and was out before fire service arrival.

Acomb crew were mobilised to a believed fire in a residential property. Crews investigated and confirmed this to be a pan fire that generated a lot of smoke but was out on arrival of crew. Crews assisted with ventilating the property and gave advice to residents.

Whitby crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in a rear garden that was believed to be out of control. Crew liaised with the responsible person and no fire service intervention was needed.
Time: 20:43 Location: Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough
Crew from Scarborough investigated reports of fire sighted. This turned out to be a BBQ under supervision, no fire service action was required.

Lythe crews were requested to assist Police with a fuel spillage following a road traffic collision. Crews made the area safe.
Time: 21:10 Location: Yarburgh Way, York
Huntington crews investigated a report of a loud bang heard and a fire sighted in a rear garden. This was confirmed to be a bonfire that had spread to fencing and hedges. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish and gave advice to the responsible person.
Time: 22:50 Location: Hutchinson Drive, Northallerton
A crew from Northallerton responded to a car which had become locked with the keys inside and the engine running. Crews gained access to the vehicle through a rear window to allow them to make the vehicle safe.
Time: 00:57 Location: Bossall
A crew from York responded to a vehicle which was well alight. Crews extinguished using a hose reel jet and the incident was left with the police.

A crew from Easingwold responded to a request from the Police on behalf of the Ambulance service to gain entry to a property over concerns for the occupier. A door enforcer was used to gain entry and the patient was left in the care of paramedics.

A crew from Skipton responded to assist West Yorkshire fire and rescue service with reports of smoke in a residential building. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm and no action was required by North Yorkshire fire and rescue.

A crew from Tadcaster responded to a request from the Ambulance service to assist with a difficult extrication. Crew power and a stretcher were used to extricate the patient to a road ambulance.
Time: 06:11 Location: Northway, Scarbrough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision in which a vehicle collided with traffic lights. Crews disconnected the vehicles battery, cleared up fuel which had leaked from the vehicle and made the scene safe.
Crews from Thirsk, Scarborough (x2), Harrogate and Skipton attended fire alarm activations. On arrival after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
