19:36 – Hopgrove, York

A crew from Harrogate who were covering in the York area responded to an SUV with a small engine fire. They used a hose reel jet to cool the engine and fully extinguish the fire. They also used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature.

21:41 – Whitley

Selby’s crew responded to a report of a fire in the open. Upon arrival no Fire Service action was taken due to the fire having burnt itself out.

23:13 – Cridling Stubbs

A crew from Selby attended a fire in the open measuring 5m x 3m. The fire consisted of household waste and building rubble. The crew used a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area.

00:41 – Masham

Crews from Ripon and Northallerton responded to a large agricultural vehicle suffering with severely overheated brakes. The crews used a hose reel jet and a water curtain to cool the breaks and the underside of the vehicle to an ambient temperature, which they monitored with a thermal imaging camera.

05:16 – Stokesley

Northallerton’s pump was mobilised to assist with a person stuck on their roof after attempting to gain entry to the property. Crews released them uninjured using a triple extension ladder and advice was given.

 

Crews from Skipton, York, Harrogate and Scarborough responded to automatic fire alarm activations throughout the evening. These were all confirmed to be false alarms.
