Incident Summary – Monday 1st June – Night Shift
Time: 17:25 Location: Whitefield Lane, Whitley
A crew from Selby responded to a fire sighted in the open. This was found to be a fire measuring approximately 3m x 1m consisting of household waste. Crews extinguished using one hose reel jet.
Time: 18:30 Location: Carr Lane, Acomb
Acomb assisted an occupant who had fallen from bed and became stuck. A family member was unable to move them and crew power was used to move them back to a safe position. Advice was given and no injuries were reported.
Time: 19:10 Location: Coldyhill Lane, Scarborough
A crew from Filey responded to reports of a fire in the open. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm with good intent.
Time: 21:16 Location: Thanet Road, Acomb
Acomb responded to an occupant who reported smoke inside their property. After inspection, crews confirmed no fire but the source of the smoke to be from cooking fumes. False alarm good intent.
Time: 22:28 Location: Farfield Avenue, Knaresborough
Knaresborough assisted ambulance crews with the difficult extrication of a patient inside their property to the awaiting road ambulance outside. Ambulance’s scoop stretcher and crew power was used.
Time: 23:50 Location: Near Low Betham
Crews responded to flooding outside which had started to enter a property. Crews used small tools and shovels to divert the water out of the property. Advice was given.
Crews from Scarborough (x2), Bentham, Acomb and Harrogate attended fire alarm activations. On arrival, after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
