Incident Summary – Night Shift 2nd June

Time: 17:54  Location: York

Crews from York and Acomb attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. All occupants were out of their vehicles on arrival of crews. Scene safety only carried out by isolating the batteries, incident then left in hands of police.

Time: 18:42  Location: Harrogate

Crew from Harrogate were called out to a smoldering fire in some woodland. Crews located a small amount of smoldering sticks and extinguished by smothering the fire with soil.

Time: 19:48  Location: Richmond

Crew from Richmond responded to reports of a bin fire. On arrival this was actually found to be a small skip containing sawdust that was smoldering. Crew used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down.

Time: 20:30 Location: York

Crew from Acomb responded to reports of a fire to a bin and a hedge. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm caused by a controlled burn in a brazier.

Time: 22:08  Location: Eastfield

Crew from Scarborough released a teenager from a childs swing using small tools. Advice given.

Time: 23:59  Location: York

Crew from York attended a small fire in the open. Crew used 1 hose reel jet to dampen down and gave advice to responsible person who was in attendance.

Time:  02.00  Location: South Duffield

A crew from Selby responded to a report of a strong smell of smoke in the area of the caller.  After an extensive search of the area no fire was found by crews.

 

Crews from Scarborough also responded to automatic fire alarm activations.  After investigation these were found to be false alarms.
