Time: 17:20 Location: Dringhouses

A crew from Acomb responded to reports of a bin in a compound on fire, consisting of household waste. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish. The cause was unknown.

Time: 17:22 Location: Manham Hill, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a block of flats struck by lightning. The property suffered internal damage to plaster and the walls, as a result of the lightning surge. Advice was given, but there was no further action required by the fire service.

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a secondary property struck by lightning, causing damage to the chimney stack. One person was treated by Yorkshire Ambulance Service at the scene.

Time: 17:26 Location: Eastfield, Scarborough

A crew from Sherburn responded to reports of a property struck by lightning.  Crews assessed the property and no damage was found.

Time: 17:52 Location: Long Lane, Seamer, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of fires being set in a field. On inspection, this was a controlled burn of rubbish, under supervision.

Time: 18:06 Location: A6136, Richmond

Crews from Richmond and Reeth responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision where a vehicle impacted a wall. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle. They were checked over on scene by paramedics, before being taken to hospital via road ambulance.  2 persons were out of the vehicle on arrival, and one person was brought out of the vehicle by a member of the public, all checked over by paramedics on scene. Crews used stabilisation equipment and the first aid pack.

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of smoke in the corridor of student accommodation. This as a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Time: 21:03 Location: Pyramid Court, York

A crew from Acomb responded to reports of a fire to shrubland. Crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire which measured 1m by 1m. The cause of the fire is believed deliberate.

Time: 21:25 Location: Lincoln Street, York

A crew from Acomb responded to reports of a fire in the open. This was a fire measuring 2m by 1m, with a life buoy being burnt. Crews using knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is believed deliberate and police were informed.

Time: 22:57  Location: The Mount, York

York assisted ambulance crews with gaining entry to a property where the occupant had activated her fall pendant but paramedics on scene were unable to gain access. Crews gained access via a window and the patient was left in the care of paramedics.

Time: 23:09  Location: Middle Town, Skipton

A crew from Skipton assisted carers with a person who became trapped inside their mobility wheelchair which malfunctioned. Crew power was used to move the patient to a safe location. No injuries were reported.

 

Crews from Huntington, Scarborough and Bedale also responded to activated fire alarms. After inspection, these were confirmed as false alarms.
