Incident Summary – Wednesday 10th June 2026
Time: 18:16 Location: Normanby, Pickering
Pickering responded to a electrical pylon fire which was out on arrival. Crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera and identified damage to the fuse box and isulation only. Advice was given to occupants and the incident was left with a member of Norther Power.
Time: 18:19 Location: Raincliffe Woods, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to an unattended bonfire in a wooded area measuring 2 x 2 metres. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Time: 18:52 Location: Cornwall Road, Harrogate
Harrogate responded to a person stuck inside their bathroom and the family member in attendance was unable to help them on their own. Crews were able to access the occupant and move them to a comfortable position. The occupant was then left in the care of family members awaiting the arrival of ambulance for precautionary checks.
Time: 20.55 Location: Old Great North Road, Brotherton
Crews from Pontefract (West Yorkshire fire and rescue) and Selby responded to reports of a tree on fire. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish.
Time: 00:39 Location: Skelton
Acomb assisted ambulance with gaining entry to a bathroom as their patient had become trapped on the other side the door. Crews gained access using small tools and the patient was taken to hospital via road ambulance.
Crews from Scarborough (x2), Skipton, York, and Filey also responded to activated fire alarms. After inspection, these were all confirmed as false alarms.
