Incident Summary – Wednesday 8th July – Night Shift
17:45 – Ascot Way, York
A crew from Easingwold assisted with rescuing two people from a lift after the doors became stuck. The crew used small tools to open the lift.
18:03 – Forge Valley, East Ayton
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of people having a campfire amongst dry vegetation. The crew were unable to locate an incident after inspecting the area.
18:06 – Easingwold Road, Huby
Crews from Harrogate and Thirsk attended a fire to decking in the rear garden of a domestic property. Fire spread from decking to conservatory doors and had been extinguished with a hose pipe prior to Fire Service arrival. Crews used small tools to remove sections of the decking, and a thermal imaging camera to check for fire spread and hot spots. They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the ground floor which suffered some smoke logging.
18:12 – Burns Way, Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate assisted Ambulance by gaining entry to an address where welfare concerns had been raised for a person inside. The crew used a triple extension ladder to enter the premises via a window and found no persons inside.
18:14 – Carlton Road, Carlton Miniott
Crews from Northallerton and Ripon responded to a three vehicle road traffic collision. All occupants of the vehicles were out on arrival of the Fire Service. Crews assisted with traffic management and making the scene safe. The incident was then left with Police.
18:18 – Kelfield
Crews from Snaith, Easingwold, Thirsk, Acomb and Tadcaster attended a large fire to approximately 35 acres of stubble and standing crops. Crews surrounded the fire before it spread to properties and extinguished it using multiple hose reel jets and wildfire tools.
18:34 – Northallerton
A crew from Bedale assisted Police with cleaning down a roadway following an earlier road traffic collision. They used a hose reel jet.
18:51 – Forge Valley, East Ayton
Scarborough’s appliance responded to another report of people having a campfire in an area of dry vegetation. The crew located the fire which was contained in a metal bucket. After giving advice to a responsible person, the fire was extinguished using a bucket of water.
19:08 – North Otterington
A crew from Bedale attended a report of a fire in the open. This was a controlled burn being supervised appropriately, and no action was taken by the fire service.
19:45 – High Street, Northallerton
Northallerton’s crew responded to reports of a large plant container smouldering. They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
20:28 – Sowerby
Crews from Northallerton and Ripon responded to a residential house fire. The fire extinguished itself prior to the arrival of the crews. The crew used a thermal imaging camera to inspect the affected room, and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the room of smoke.
20:40 – Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate attended a location where a person had been seen setting a deliberate fire in woodland. The fire had been extinguished prior to the arrival of the crew and no action was taken.
20:51 – Ascot Way, York
A crew from Acomb assisted carers with moving a bedbound patient. They used crew power only.
21:58 Rowan Avenue, New Earswick
Huntington, Ripon and Selby crews attended a fire which had initially started in a garden shed and then spread to property and hedgerow. Significant damage to roof and kitchen of property. Crews used numerous hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire.
22:02 Chantry Road, Romanby
Northallerton crews assisted Ambulance crews with lifting a casualty into Ambulance from property.
22:23 Near to Deverell Barracks, Ripon
Ripon and Boroughbridge crew responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car into hedge. Crews made vehicle safe and incident was left in the hands of Police.
23:35 Goathland
Whitby crews extinguished a disposable BBQ because it was close to moorland. Safety advice was given to the person responsible.
22:41 Lang Avenue, York
Tadcaster crews assisted Ambulance crew with gaining entry to property due to welfare concerns for occupant. Crews gained access and incident was left in the care of Ambulance.
22:48 Lincoln Grove, Harrogate.
Harrogate crews assisted Ambulance Crews to gain entry to a property due to concerns for the occupant. Crew gained entry and left incident with Ambulance crew.
23:29 The Village, Haxby
Acomb crew investigated a bonfire in a rear car park and extinguished the fire using bucket of water.
23:52 Colburn Lane, Colburn
Richmond crew attended an alarm activation at a residential building. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.
23:57 Newby, Scarborough
Scarborough crew assisted with lifting a casualty at a domestic property. Crew power used to assist. Incident left with responsible person in attendance.

Acomb and Huntington crews attended following a request to assist Ambulance and Police at an incident. On arrival, crews stood by. No action required by Fire and Rescue, crew stood down. Incident left with Police and Ambulance.
04:29 Main Street, High Bentham
Bentham crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

Northallerton crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.
