Incident Summary – Day Shift – 1st September
10:37 – Richmond Castle, Richmond
Richmond’s appliance were requested by police to assist with scene safety following a small rockslide from the castle towers. Fire personnel, alongside police, cordoned off the area from the public and handed the incident over to English Heritage staff.
11:58 – York
Acomb’s appliance responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property, this was found to be a false alarm due to the alarm being tested.
12:14 – Oak Tree Court, Colburn
Richmond’s appliance attended a residential property with an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
14:49 – Low Lane, York
York’s pump was mobilised to reports of an unattended fire measuring approximately 1m by 1m. On the arrival of crews, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision, crews gave advice to the responsible person.
15:48 – Hyde Park Road, Harrogate
Harrogate’s second appliance responded to reports of plastic being burned in the street. On crews arrival, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision, crews gave advice and left the incident with the responsible person.
16:25 – Queen Street, Scarborough
Scarborough’s crew responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. After a thorough inspection of the premises, this was found to be a false alarm.
