Incident off the A19, Eggborough

9:30am update 16th September

Crews were called around 19:45 yesterday evening (15th September)

The incident involves around 3500 bales and trailers on fire. Crews worked hard to protect the surrounding area and stop the fire spreading.

The incident was scaled down overnight, with some crews being released from the scene. The remaining crews continued to monitor the inicdent throughtout the night and into this morning.

All crews have now left the scene, but the incident remains open for revisits throughout the day.

15th September

We currently have a number of crews in attendance at a large stack of bales on fire in a field near Eggborough.  The fire is creating a large amount of smoke and those in the vicinity are advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
