Incident Summary – Night Shift 30th September
Time: 17.13 Location: Catterick Garrison
A crew from Hawes (on Standby at Richmond) responded to smoke that had been sighted in the area. Crews located the fire in some scrub land and used 2 knapsack sprayers and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Time: 17.30 Location: A1 N Junction 47
Crews from Knaresborough, Harrogate and Wetherby (West Yorks FRS) responded to a report of a road traffic collision. On arrival crews found 1 vehicle had left the road and ended up on its roof. All occupants were out of the vehicle on arrival of the crews and crews left them in the hands of Ambulance crews.

Easingwold crew responded to 2 individuals who had climbed over a railing onto a pipe and were unable to get back over. Crews used a 9 meter ladder to safely help the individuals back across.
Time: 19.13 Location: Mere Lane, Scarborough
A Crew from Sherburn responded to a report of some smoke seen from a distance. On arrival crews found this to be a controlled burn of some garden waste with the owner in attendance with a means of extinguishing. No Fire Service action required.

A crew from Easingwold (on standby at York) responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential premises. On arrival this was found to be a collander that had accidentally been left on a hob. Crews used 1 Breathing Apparatus cylinder to clear light smoke logging from the flat and gave advice to the occupant.

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a fire in a park. Crews found a small fire and extinguished it using a bucket of water.

Crews from Northallerton and Goole (Humberside FRS) responded to a report of a fire on the side of the motorway, crews extinguished.
Time: 21.28 Location: Sherburn In Elmet
Crews from Tadcaster alongside assistance from Pontefract appliance (West Yorkshire Fire Service) responded to a late fire call. The fire to a lithium battery charger was out on arrival, crews inspected and gave advice.
Time: 02.23 Location: York
Water rescue crews were mobilised to a person who had fallen into the river after the railings that they were leaning on gave way. Prior to the crews getting there a member of the public had thrown the person a life ring and helped them out of the river. The person was left in the hands of paramedics and no fire service action was necessary.
Time: 05.07 Location: Newby, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a request for assistance from Ambulance with lifting a casualty after they had fallen. Crews used crew power to assist with moving the casualty to the Ambulance.
Crews from Bedale, Ripon and Malton also attended automatic fire alarm activations. After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
