Incident Summary – 4th October 2026, Dayshift

Time: 08:36       Location: Badger Paddock, Huntington

A crew from Huntington responded to a request to gain entry to a property, where a person had fallen within. Crews used a lock puller to gain entry. The person was uninjured and left in the care of a family member.

Time:  08:48     Location: Essex Close, Catterick Garrison

A crew from Richmond responded to reports of a small vehicle leaking 20 litres of diesel onto tarmac. Crews used drizzit pads and sand to contain the spill.

Time: 09:53      Location: Healaugh, Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster responded to a request from the ambulance service to assist with the extrication of a person who had fallen in the first floor of their bedroom. Crews used a MIB stretcher and lines to assist with the extrication, and the person was left in the care of the ambulance service.

Time: 10:59   Location: Monks Cross Drive, Huntington

A crew from York responded to reports of youths setting a fire in a field. This was a fire measuring 1m by 1m, consisting of branches and bushes. The fire was out on arrival, crews damped down using buckets of water.

Time:  11:52     Location: Embsay

Skipton and Grassington responded to a chimney fire inside a public building. The fire was confined to the chimney. Crews extinguished the fire using chimney kit and small tools.

Time:  12:09     Location: Knottingley

Selby responded to an abandoned vehicle fire. Crews extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera, the incident was left with police to investigate further.

Time:  12:31     Location: Haxby Road, York

York and Acomb responded to reports of a fire close to some commercial garages. Crews located a compost heap on fire and extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet. Neighbouring buildings were checked for any signs of fire spread or damage.

Time:  12:36     Location: Near Pateley Bridge

Grassington responded to reports of a moor fire. After inspection, this was confirmed as a false alarm due to controlled burning on the moorland.

Time:  13:34     Location: Sherburn-in-Elmet

A crew from North Yorkshire alongside an assisting appliance from West Yorkshire responded to reports of a battery powered lawnmower on fire which was out on arrival. Inspection carried out only and advice given.

Time:   15:09    Location: St Benedict Road, York

Acomb responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. After inspection, this was confirmed as a false alarm.

Time:   15:10    Location: Beckfield Lane, Acomb

York responded to water coming through the ceiling of a domestic property. Crews located the leak in the loft and isolated the leak and electrics. Crews gave advice to the occupant to make contact with their landlord. Small tools used.
