Incident Summary – Day Shift – 18th May
08:44 – Bramley Garth, York
Acomb’s appliance were requested by ambulance staff to assist with the difficult extrication of a casualty from their property. Crews used crew power to move them into a road ambulance where they were then taken to hospital.
11:21 – Cold Bath Road, Harrogate
Harrogate’s crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. This was found to be a false alarm.
11:36 – Forest Lane, Harrogate
Both Harrogate’s crews attended an incident involving a late fire call at a residential property. The fire was out on crews arrival, crews carried out a fire safety visit and ensured there was no further risk.
11:44 – Skiplam Road
Helmsley’s crew attended an incident involving smoke that had been spotted from a nearby farm, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision.
11:59 – A1 Southbound
Crews from Knaresborough, Harrogate and Wetherby were mobilised to an incident involving a trailer that had caught fire whilst travelling down the motorway. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one thermal imagining camera, one hose reel jet and a hook to extinguish.
12:13 – Station Road, Thirsk
Northallerton’s crew responded to reports of a small fire in the open, this was found to be controlled burn under supervision.
14:54 – Butterwick
Helmsley’s crew were mobilised to a skip that had caught fire. Crews extinguished used one hose reel jet and small tools, the incident was left with a responsible person.
14:56 – Wetherby Road, Harrogate
Harrogate’s crew were requested on behalf of police to assist with scene safety following a road traffic collision. One of the vehicles was smoking on crews arrival, a hose reel jet, thermal imagining camera and spreaders were used to extinguish and cool down.
15:55 – London Road, Barkston Ash
Tadcaster’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving a fryer that had caught fire at a commercial property. The fire was out on crews arrival, a thermal imagining camera was used to monitor the heat and advice was given to a responsible person.
