Incident Summary – Tuesday Nightshift, 17th February 2026

Time:  17:51  Location: Outgang Road, Malton

Malton responded to a small fire measuring 1 x 1 metres involving a perimeter fence.  The fence was partially damaged however crews extinguished the fire before it spread to a nearby garden shed. Crews extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and gave advice.

Time: 01:04  Location: Olliver Road, Richmond

Richmond responded to reports of a fire inside a residential property. After inspection, no fire was located and advice was given to the occupant. This was a false alarm with good intent.

Time: 03:16  Location: York

Crews from York, Acomb and Selby responded to a report from the police of a person in the river. The person had accidentally fallen into the river and had managed to pull themselves out of the water and hold onto railings to await rescue. Crews rescued the person using ladders and the incident was left with the police and ambulance service.

 

Crews from Acomb, York, Harrogate, Scarborough (x2) and Skipton also responded to activated fire alarms inside residential and commercial buildings. After inspection, these were all confirmed as false alarms.
