Incident Summary – Friday 20th February – Day Shift

08:11 – Harrogate Road, Spofforth

One of Harrogate’s crews were requested by ambulance to attend a single vehicle traffic collision where the driver was supposedly trapped inside. On crews arrival, the driver was out and in the hands of paramedics so crews made the vehicle safe and left the incident in hands of paramedics.

08:16 – Parliament Street, Harrogate

Harrogate were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property, on crews arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to the system being tested.

08:28 – Woodfield Road, Harrogate

Harrogate’s crew attended a residential property with a fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

09:06 – Scampston Drive, Beckwithshaw

Harrogate attended a residential property with two persons trapped inside their bedroom, crews used crew power to free them and both people had no injuries.

11:54 – Cockmoor Road, Sawdon

Crews from Scarborough attended an incident involving a car that was on fire. Crews used two hose reel jets, one breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.

13:27 – Oughtershaw Road

Crews from Hawes and Grassington were mobilised to an incident involving a casualty that was trapped in a vehicle after a road traffic collision. Crews were able to assist both passengers out of the vehicle and provided first aid using a vehicle stabilisation kit and an IEC kit. Both passengers were luckily unharmed after the collision.

13:34 – Arundel Grove, York

Acomb’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving someone stuck in their mobility chair. Crews used a recip saw and crew power to release them and left them with their carers.

15:25 – Mill Rise, Romanby

A crew from Northallerton attended an incident involving two people that were locked inside a bedroom. Crews used a triple extension ladder to gain access to the property through a window and then a recip saw to free them from the bedroom.

16:08 – William Plows Avenue, York

York’s appliance was mobilised to a residential property with an automatic fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
