Incident Summary – Sunday 1st March – Night Shift

Time: 18.04  Location: Sturdy Court, Kirkbymoorside

Two crews from Malton responded to a report from a collector station there was and Automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential premises and they could not get a response from the occupant.  Crews found this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 19.38  Location:  Durham Way, Harrogate

A Crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a discarded cigarette that set fire to a pile of cardboard in a garden. The occupant had attempted to extinguish the fire prior to Fire Service arrival and crews completely extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.  Advice given.

Time: 21:51  Location: Moorside Dale, Ripon

Crews from Ripon responded to a tractor fire. Tractor was well alight in the middle of a field, 1 hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus and 1 thermal imaging camera used. Fire extinguished and 100% fire damage caused to the cab of the vehicle.

Time: 23:13  Location: High Street, Harrogate

Crew from Harrogate responded to a fuse box that had blown and sparked in a residential property. Thermal imaging camera and small tools used to check for any hotspots. Advice given to occupants.

Time: 04.21  Location: A65 Hellifield

Two crews from Skipton responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision where a car had left the road and come to rest on its side in a ditch with one person trapped inside.  Crew stabilised the vehicle and used Edraulic cutting equipment to perform a roof fold down to free the occupant who was taken to hospital for precautionary checks with no injuries reported.

 

Crews from Selby, Scarborough, Whitby and Harrogate also attended reports of automatic fire alarm activations. After thorough inspections these were found to be false alarms.
