Incident Summary – Night Shift 6th August

Time: 17.21  Location: Hunmanby, Filey

A crew from Scarborough responded to a request to assist with lifting a casualty who had fallen. On arrival of the crew the casualty had already been aided to their feet and no fire service action was required.

Time: 19.17  Location:  Keighley Road, Skipton

Crews from Skipton and Grassington responded to a report of a loud bang and smoke coming from an electricity substation.  On arrival crews used bolt croppers and edraulic spreaders to access the substation and monitored it using a thermal imaging camera until the arrival of the electricity board, who confirmed the bang and smoke were caused by a blown fuse.

Time: 19.35  Location:  Mallory Court, Skipton

A crew from Grassington responded to a report of 2 persons trapped in a lift.  On arrival of the crews the cleaner of the premises had released the persons from the lift and no fire service action was required.

Time: 19.43  Location: Lowgate, Balne

A crew from Selby responded to a report of a fire seen from a distance.  On arrival the crew found this to be a controlled burn with a responsible person in attendance.

Time: 05.30  Location:  Etty Avenue, York

A crew from York responded to a request from Police to assist swilling away a road after a petrol spillage.  Crews used 1 hose reel jet to wash the fuel away.

Crews from York also attended automatic fire alarm activations.  After inspection by crews these were found to be false alarms.
