Keith Donnelly Awarded OBE for his services to the Fire and Rescue Service.

Keith Donnelly, has been awarded an OBE in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List which were published over the weekend.

Keith has received the award in recognition of his services to the fire and rescue service.

Keith joined North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service as a Fire Control Operator in 1992, having previously been a Video Technician in Cleveland Fire Brigade. Keith has undertaken various roles within NYFRS including Senior Fire Control Operator, IPDS Support Officer, On-call firefighter and Community Safety CM. In 2008 he was seconded to what was then DCLG and he is now seconded to Home Office as a Fire Service Advisor.

We all believe Keith is a credit to the Service and the whole fire and rescue service sector and we are sure you will all join us in congratulating him on receiving this honour.

Keith said “I am absolutely honoured and a bit overwhelmed to have been awarded an OBE. During my 35-year fire service career I have been lucky enough to work in some great roles alongside some amazing people and working in some great teams. Being named in this year’s Birthday Honours makes me feel very privileged to have had such a rewarding career doing a job I have always enjoyed and loved”.
